Developers Back RUDA’s Vision: Flood-Resilient Ravi Riverfront City

Developers Back RUDA’s Vision Flood-Resilient Ravi Riverfront City

Developers Pledge Full Support to RUDA’s Vision for Sustainable Riverfront Development:

Lahore- The Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA) has reaffirmed its commitment to building a modern, sustainable, and flood-resilient city along the Ravi River, following a high-level meeting with leading developers at its headquarters. The session highlighted a strong alliance between RUDA and private sector stakeholders, as both sides vowed to accelerate progress on one of Pakistan’s most ambitious urban development projects.

Developers Express Confidence in RUDA:

During the meeting, a large number of developers and stakeholders expressed their renewed confidence in RUDA’s mission. They assured complete cooperation and support for the Authority’s vision to transform the Riverfront of the Ravi into a vibrant urban hub with world-class infrastructure, environmental safeguards, and sustainable communities.

“We stand with RUDA,” the developers declared in unison, emphasising that they view the project not only as an investment opportunity but also as a national cause that will reshape Lahore’s urban future.”

Flood Resilience: A Core Priority

RUDA CEO Imran Amin underlined that all development along the Ravi will strictly follow the approved master plan, with flood control, flood mitigation, and climate resilience being the foremost principles of execution.

Citing recent monsoon floods, Amin shared that RUDA’s engineered infrastructure has already proven effective. In the 7-kilometer stretch where RUDA has constructed a 600-foot-wide promenade, floodwaters measuring 230,000 cusecs safely passed without spilling over into nearby residential areas. He assured that further enhancements are underway to withstand future climate challenges, including the capacity to manage up to 600,000 cusecs of floodwater.

A Monumental Project for Pakistan:

The RUDA initiative spans 46 kilometers of riverfront and covers more than 140,000 acres, making it the largest planned riverfront project in the region. The development envisions:

  • Modern residential and commercial communities

  • Smart infrastructure and interconnected road networks

  • Advanced flood management systems

  • Eco-friendly and sustainable urban design

“This project is more than just a housing scheme — it is about safeguarding Lahore’s future, improving quality of life, and creating Pakistan’s first sustainable city along the Ravi River,” CEO Imran Amin said.

A Shared Commitment to the Future:

At the conclusion of the meeting, developers and RUDA leadership collectively reiterated their determination to accelerate construction and deliver results in line with international standards. The partnership, they stressed, will ensure that Pakistan’s first riverfront city embodies resilience, eco-friendliness, and long-term sustainability.

Senior RUDA officials were also present at the meeting, reinforcing the Authority’s resolve to deliver a transformative project that combines urban growth with environmental preservation.
