Legal Status:

The Punjab Government passed an act in 2020 in parliament with the name The Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA) to conduct urban development on riverfront of Ravi River.

The Act grants RUDA the power to acquire and manage properties. It also allows RUDA to engage in contracts and agreements with individuals and various entities after complying with regulations.

The Chief Minister (CM) of Punjab appoints the Board of Directors, and the board is accountable of general administration and overall management of RUDA.
