RUDA Gets M2 and Lahore Sialkot Motorway Interchanges for Ravi City

RUDA Secures Strategic Interchanges on M2 and LSM to Boost Connectivity of Ravi City:
Lahore: In a major infrastructure breakthrough, the Federal Minister for Communications, Mr. Abdul Aleem Khan, has approved the construction of two vital interchanges for the Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA) — one at the Lahore-Sialkot Motorway (LSM) Eastern Bypass and another at the M2 Motorway. This strategic decision marks a transformative step in connecting Ravi City, particularly flagship projects like Chahar Bagh, NMCL, and Sapphire Bay, with the greater Lahore metropolitan area and beyond.
The new interchange at Lahore-Sialkot Motorway will significantly improve accessibility to Sapphire Bay, a prominent project of Javedan Corporation and RUDA being developed on Public Private Partnership Model. This development is expected to increase the value and accessibility of the entire zone of RUDA, we call it RUDA Zone 1, making it more attractive for investors and residents alike.
Equally important, a 1-kilometer-long bridge oo Ravi is planned to link Chahar Bagh and Sapphire Bay, and once completed, Chahar Bagh will be just 8 to 9 kilometers away from the main artery, drastically reducing travel time between Ravi City and central Lahore.

Ravi Expressway and Master Planning Integration:
These interchanges will also support the construction of 300-feet wide roads on both sides of the Ravi River, ultimately connecting with the Ravi Expressway through Kala Khatai Road. This corridor will provide a seamless link from the northern and eastern peripheries of Lahore to emerging urban developments under RUDA’s master plan.
These connections will not only enhance mobility but also reduce congestion and distribute traffic flow more efficiently across Lahore.
This development is expected to greatly benefit both the general public and investors. By improving access to RUDA’s flagship projects and integrating them into the national infrastructure grid, the new interchanges will:
-
Reduce travel time and traffic congestion in Lahore
-
Improve public access to newly planned urban areas
-
Support long-term growth of Ravi City
-
Encourage early-stage investments in RUDA projects
The announcement was made during a high-level meeting held at the National Highway Authority (NHA) headquarters in Lahore. The meeting was chaired by Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan, who also emphasized the urgency of implementing the development plans swiftly.
Also in attendance were Federal Secretary for Communications Ali Sher Mehsud, NHA Chairman Shehryar Sultan, RUDA CEO Imran Amin, COO Brig (R) Mansoor Janjua, Executive Director Engineering Abdul Waheed Khan, and other senior officials.
This milestone further reinforces RUDA’s commitment to build a planned, connected, and sustainable urban future for Lahore. As connectivity improves, investors, residents, and businesses will all benefit from enhanced access, higher land value, and improved quality of life. The approval of these interchanges is more than just a construction update — it’s a step towards a smarter, more integrated Ravi City.
