RUDA and Sino-Pak Collaboration
Lahore- In a landmark display of bilateral cooperation, Pakistani officials and Chinese firms met during this week for long term growth and economic success of Pakistan.
The meetings took place at the headquarters of China Machinery Engineering Corporation (CMEC) among important stakeholders, including officials from the Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA) and the Punjab Central Business District Authority (PCBDA).
Representatives from RUDA and PCBDA also met with Oriental Youhong, a prominent Chinese business known for its expertise in solar panel manufacture and construction solutions. The discussions focused on partnership opportunities, with the goal of using Oriental Youhong’s expertise to support Pakistani infrastructure projects.

A productive meeting was also held to further strengthen collaboration, during which a delegation consisting of ADM CEO Mr. Yasir Malik, Pakistan China Commerce Alliance President Guo XiaoQi, Director BD IR Ms. Fatima Ali Khan, and Assistant Director PR Ms. Sana Iqbal discussed opportunities for establishing an Electric Vehicle (EV) charging factory and 5 star hotels within RUDA’s jurisdiction.
Key discussion points of meeting is to create an EV assembly and production factory in RUDA’s Industrial State, with a 40-acre land need. In addition, ideas for prestigious 5-star hotels with site requirements ranging from 5 to 7 acres were reviewed. Keen interest has been demonstrated, showing substantial progress towards materializing these ambitious plans, with more exploration and extensive conversations on technology transfer agreements and land acquisition slated for the next meetings.
In addition, a team of technical experts visited the Zoomlines heavy industrial complex and demonstrated several types of earth moving machines, cranes, smog busters, sprinkler trucks, and municipal sweepers to Pakistani delegates.

These joint initiatives demonstrate both Chinese firms and Pakistani delegates’ consistent dedication to forming synergistic alliances, advancing sustainable development, and fostering regional economic success.
It is worth noting that the Punjab Govt has demonstrated a strong desire to assist and grow the province’s IT sector. In this regard, the government has initiated a number of efforts to promote a vibrant IT environment. Punjab intends to establish an IT Hub through strategic investments, infrastructural development, and policy framework.
